SCCEI Young Researcher Workshop 2024-25: Presenter Sign-Up

Thank you for your interest in presenting your research in the SCCEI Young Researcher Workshop series! All presentations will now be held on Fridays, and lunch will be served. This year we are offering two possible formats for your presentation:

Option 1: Full Length Presentation, 1 hour, econ-style

You will present your research in a traditional seminar format, with a total of 1 hour to present your work. The seminar will be moderated by a SCCEI postdoc, and audience members will be allowed to interrupt the presentation with questions.

Option 2: Lightning Round Presentation, 30 minutes presentation, econ-style

You will present as part of a 2 hour session dedicated to graduate student presentations. We can accept up to 4 presentations per session.

_________

Requirements for all presentations:

The workshop audience is multi-disciplinary, so while including a strong motivation for your research is important, please do not spend too much time on situating your work in field-specific theories.

Please be sure to clearly define:

  • Your research question
  • Your primary outcome variables
  • Your study hypothesis
  • Where, when, and how your data were collected

Please also include a summary table showing sample size and key sample characteristics.

We also ask that all presenters actively invite their faculty advisor(s) to attend their presentation. Ideally, students will coordinate their presentation availability with their advisor(s) ex ante.

_________

To Apply:

Please fill out this form about your proposed talk and preferences for presentation format, and our event organizer will be in touch to finalize a presentation date.

Priority for presentation slots will go to currently-enrolled Stanford PhD students and postdocs, as well as students with SCCEI-funded research. Secondary consideration will go to visiting graduate students.
