SMU Request

Below you will find the outline for the Special Make Up Ordering Process as well as all the mandatory fields for your SMU request.


The most critical point in offering the SMU program is the minimum requirement to purchase 50% of the development styles placed by the purchasing account. (i.e. an account requests 10 styles from development, 5 styles must be placed at full unit minimum per style).


An SMU developed for an account will be exclusive to purchasing account for 6 months from receipt of the initial SMU order. After that time, the styles may be offered to another account or placed in line. In addition, all designs, components, materials and technology used in Twisted X Footwear are private intellectual property of Twisted X, Inc.


Twisted X, Inc. retains sole exclusive rights to all designs, components, materials and technology which means they are not to be shared with any other entity until purchased. Any account that does not follow these guidelines will be limited in future partnerships with Twisted X.


SMU is defined by changes as simple as revisions to components of the footwear, based off the use of existing in line or previously developed materials, colors or patterns.


For this process, you can expect sample development time to take 10 business days. You must also factor in 7-10 days for shipping of the sample before it will reach you.


Requests for new leathers, fabrics, colors, patterns, and/or new toolings (needed when incorporating new textures or components), etc., fall under "new development" categorization and are not considered special make-ups.


SPECIAL MAKE UP PROCESS:


  1. SMU request submitted by sales rep via this form
  2. SMU sample is received by sales rep
  3. Sample is approved by account. 14 day approval window required
  4. Sales rep requests style numbers, pricing, and UPC codes from Product Development
  5. Style numbers, pricing, and UPC codes are generated and sent to sales rep
  6. Account places order with sales rep. 300 unit minimum for men’s and women’s styles. 240 unit minimum for infants and youth.
  7. Sales rep submits order via email to Susan at smercer@twistedx.com. Also CC: logisticsstaff@twistedx.com, ProductDevelopment@twistedx.com, and Prasad (preddy@twistedx.com).
  8. Customer service rep sends order confirmation with delivery date. Timeframe is 120 days minimum from date of confirmation.
  9. Sales rep returns SMU samples to Decatur office, c/o Jeff Wammer
  10. Account confirms delivery of product
