Application: NIH/NIAMS T32 Predoctoral Training Program in Skin Biology

Nominee Requirements:

  1. Must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Physical green card required for permanent residents.
  2. Training in the predoctoral level.
  3. Trainees must be committed to interdisciplinary research in skin biology, incorporating approaches from other fields such as bioengineering, imaging, and computational biology.

Please attach a single PDF file arranged in the following order below.

  1. A letter of nomination from the primary mentor, evaluating the candidate’s experience and qualifications, and explaining the nature of the proposed research and training experience. The letter should include a statement that the mentor is willing to participate actively in the Interdisciplinary Training Program in Skin Biology, and that they understand that failure of trainee or mentor to participate fully may lead to exclusion from the training program and withdrawal of further funding.
  2. Current biosketches (candidate and primary mentor, NIH format). For Fellowship Biosketch instructions and format: https://grants.nih.gov/grants/forms/biosketch.htm.
  3. Statement of research interests and career plan for the candidate (less than one page). The statement should confirm that the candidate is willing to take the required formal courses as soon as they are next offered, and to participate in the required activities including Skin Club and the Skin Center seminar series.
  4. Research project plan (one-page limit, including an abstract of less than 150 words).
  5. The primary mentor’s current and pending research funding (NIH format).
