Medford Community Preservation Survey 2021

The Community Preservation Act (CPA) was adopted by Medford voters by ballot vote in November 2015 and creates a dedicated funding source, financed by a surcharge on property taxes and state matching funds, for eligible projects related to open space/recreational land, historic preservation, and affordable housing. CPA funds are awarded through a grant application process administered by the City's Community Preservation Committee. Each year the Community Preservation Committee must re-evaluate community needs and priorities for projects that might use CPA funds. Your response to this brief survey will help us to plan for next year. To learn more about Medford's CPA program, visit www.preservemedford.org The survey will been active and open for responses until May 1, 2021.

Community Preservation Act (CPA) Awareness

We are trying to raise public awareness of how Medford's CPA funds are being put to work. CPA funding can be directed towards projects that fall into three categories: (1) Affordable Housing, (2) Historical Preservation, and (3) Open Space & Recreation. Affordable Housing: Providing housing for low and moderate income individuals, families, and seniors, and helping households to access housing they can afford. Affordable housing helps to keep a community healthy and can support efforts to address inequity. Historic Preservation: Retaining the “historic fabric” of our community through conservation and restoration of important buildings, structures, and artifacts. Open Space & Recreation: Publicly accessible open space provides recreational opportunities for community members and helps to enhance the beauty and environmental quality of neighborhoods. The following questions will help us understand how to better target our outreach efforts.
