The Right Care When It Counts Maryland EMSC Program - 2026

MIEMSS is accepting nominations for the 2026 Right Care Awards for children and youth. 2026 nominations are for actions taking place between January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2025. Nominations for the 2026 awards will be accepted on a rolling basis with a final DUE date of Monday, February 2, 2026. Nomination Guidelines are located at:

Select the Right Care Criteria

1. Call or text emergency response at 9-1-1 or 9-8-8 or 1-800-222-1212 in an emergency.

2. Provides emergency phone numbers, address, health history to emergency dispatcher and/or emergency responders.

3. Teaches others the importance of written emergency plan and practices at home including disaster preparedness.

4. Applies knowledge learned in a class or training, performs CPR and/or uses an AED during a sudden emergency in the community while not on duty as a first responder.

5. Implements a unique program in Community Risk Reduction that provides education in the community.
