UCSF Chimera & UCSF ChimeraX are licensed commercially based on a non-exclusive, nontransferable, 3-year license. For-profit entities must execute a License Agreement to gain access. The two programs are licensed separately and no free trial licenses are offered. To obtain a license, please complete and submit this form for processing and ensure all information is accurate. Information entered here is used to populate agreements and forms. Questions regarding the form can be emailed to chimera@cgl.ucsf.edu.

License Information

If you would like to purchase different types of licenses or multiple licenses, please submit a separate request. Separate license agreements are required for each user of single user licenses; therefore, a separate form must be submitted if multiple single user licenses will be purchased.

IMPORTANT: Please be sure to select the correct program - Chimera OR ChimeraX. Chimera is not actively being developed and we encourage use of ChimeraX for better performance with large structures, as well as other major features. Programs require a different license agreement and incorrect information may delay your request.

License User Information

Please enter the primary license user information.

If a six user license or unlimited license is being purchased, please list the name of the individual who will be responsible for distribution of the license to users. Full first and last names must be provided.

Enter the city where the license will be used. If the primary user will be working offsite, enter the city of the company site with which the user(s) are affiliated.

The software key will be sent to this email address after a fully executed user agreement and payment are received. If a six user or multiple user license is being purchased, enter the email address of the individual responsible for distributing the licenses to users.
