  • Have or be willing to acquire a State of Wisconsin Bartending License to begin work and become a Level 1 Cicerone Certified Beer Server within three months of start date

Earth Rider Brewery is hiring a Lead Packaging Technician.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Follow SOPs, current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMPs), employee safety, and Food Safety policies.
  • Lead packaging operations, including can, bottle, and keg filling
  • Clean, troubleshoot, and maintain cellar and packaging equipment as assigned
  • Assist in and perform essential warehousing functions, including:
  • Receiving, organizing, and inventory of packaging material
  • Palletizing, wrapping, and warehousing of all finished goods
  • Complete all documentation
  • Carbonate beer prior to packaging
  • Clean kegs
  • Support fellow brewery staff in their respective responsibilities as assigned
  • Assist in other cellar tasks when required, including:
  • Maintain and monitor all fermentation
  • Check and record gravities. pH, and temperatures
  • Dry hop and other additions
  • Have the ability to work cohesively in a team environment
  • Willingness to adjust to an ever-evolving production schedule
  • Able to follow and provide verbal and written instruction
  • Forklift operations (will train)
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possessing a high degree of mechanical skills, strong mechanical aptitude
  • 2+ years of cellar and packaging experience, prefer 4 years
  • 2+ years with hands on experience working with, maintaining, and repairing a
  • Wild Goose canning line
  • Formal education in brewing or packaging science a plus
  • Prior experience operating a forklift
  • Able to lift up to 55 lbs and move full kegs (160 lbs) as needed
  • Flexible work schedule: day, night, and occasional weekend shifts (no overnights)

Earth Rider Brewing in Superior, WI is seeking to staff a full-time brewing technician position. Passion for and a familiarity with craft beer is a must. This is an entry level position. We believe in promoting staff from within our company. Individuals that perform very well will be considered for cellar and brewhouse positions as our production increases.


The brewhouse is a new 20-bbl Sprinkman Mfg three-vessel system with some automation. The facility space is adequate for growth, with plans laid for adding more fermentors and brite tanks.


Adding to the flourishing Twin Ports beer scene, Earth Rider is Superior’s first packaging brewery since 1967 when the regional Northern Brewing Co shuttered. The “Cedar Lounge” tavern was first built as a tied house in 1912 by that brewery and serves as Earth Rider’s taproom. The location is in the pub district along Superior’s working harbor, next to monolithic grain elevators, operating trains, and Great Lakes freighters.


Brewing technician responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with canning operations
  • Cleaning tap lines in our taproom
  • Cleaning and filling kegs
  • Cellar work (monitoring fermentation status, dry hopping, etc)
  • Safe forklift operation
  • Adhering to established safety protocols
  • General cleaning projects as assigned by the Head Brewer
  • Professionally representing Earth Rider at select beer festivals
  • Potentially working shifts at the taproom, if this is a good match for the employee
  • Physical requirements include, but are not limited to: the ability to frequently lift and move 50 lbs, the ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, crouch, kneel, and climb.

Brew with Lake Superior water at Earth Rider Brewery

Earth Rider Brewery in Superior, WI is seeking a brewer with previous hot-side and cold-side experience to staff a full-time position. Job experience in pub or production brewing preferred, with applicants having done both being favored. We are offering a competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with experience.

  • Adherence to safety protocols
  • Ability to operate a forklift (will train)
  • Attending beer festivals
  • Physical requirements include, but are not limited to: the ability to frequently lift

  • Focus on quality and consistency of finished product
  • Maintenance skills are a bonus

Essential skills and duties include:

The Hospitality Manager is responsible for oversight of customer service at the taproom, vacation housing rental, and Fest Grounds. The Hospitality Manager directs the service team’s professional development, maintains supply and product inventories, confirms completion of daily opening and closing duties, oversees general maintenance items, conducts sales reporting, manages budget, handles cash drops and change orders, and helps insure consistently positive customer experiences.


In a leadership position, the Hospitality Manager works alongside colleague; pouring beer, changing kegs, restocking coolers, interacting with customers, and facilitating outstanding customer service. Most importantly the Hospitality Manager is responsible for delegation of tasks to increase efficiency and evenly spread workload.


Essential Duties

Building and Facilities


  • Verify completion of cleaning and disposal duties in the taproom, house, and fest grounds on a daily and weekly rotation.
  • Personally fix, or facilitate completion, of needed work items
  • Inventory management. Conduct weekly inventory of taproom and house products and supplies.
  • Coordinate with the brewery rep for beer supply and delivery times. Sales Strategies
  • Provide exceptional customer service and experience to build loyalty and return visits.
  • Facilitate special events and large groups with the Events Coordinator
  • Staff and operate remote taproom events.
  • Offer management insight on product pricing, event ideas, and other recommendations to increase sales.


Physical Demands


  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Reliable and consistent attendance to complete all job duties.


Skills and experience


  • Two years of hospitality management or equivalent
  • Ability to teach when onboarding new staff and provide SOP’s for direction during daily and special events setup, operations, and take down.
  • Excellent communication skills to communicate tasks, goals, and relay events’ needs.
  • Organized, can multitask and help customers and staff at the same time. Ability to sense urgency when needed and delegate tasks when business is slow.
  • Make yourself available to employees and supply the support they need. Must be able to stay positive and levelheaded when faced with stressful situations.
  • Must be able to make unplanned decisions that reflect the best interest of the business.
  • Extensive knowledge of our products and SOP’s. Managers on Duty must be able to answer business and operational questions.


Minimum Requirements


  • Be a leader and role model.
  • Be a team player.
  • Be willing and able to work bartending shifts, some on weekends and evenings.
  • Can positively interact with customers and staff.
  • Obtain a Wisconsin State bartending license.
  • Have a Cicerone Beer Server certification, within one month of hire.
  • Can work 40+hrs/week, as needed including nights and weekends.
