Student hire request (Languages & Literatures)

Required qualifications and description of duties are NEEDED to post jobs in handshake in order for approval of the pay rate.

If you do not know the task number, please describe (e.g. small grant, retention, start-up, academic enrichment funds, uc online funds, etc.)

What you (professor) will be charged for:

• Student Assistant titles: professor pays salary and fringe benefits around 2%.
• Graduate Student Researcher titles: professor pays salary, fringe benefits around 2% AND fee/tuition remission.
• Reader tittles: Readers can only be hired when courses enroll at least 50 students as of the 11th day of instruction. Readers are eligible for 2 hours per enrolled student. These appointments are paid by temp teaching funds, not the hiring professor.
