WRGP / WICHE Application

The Western Regional Graduate Program (WRGP) allows graduate students in participating programs who are residents of WICHE states to be considered Oregon residents for tuition purposes only. WICHE states are: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.


This form must be filed each year in order to renew your eligibility for in-state tuition assessment.


Note: If you leave the approved program to pursue a non-participating University of Oregon master's program, you will no longer be eligible for in-state tuition assessment under this program.


By submitting this form, you certify that the information is a true statement of your degree seeking intentions at the University of Oregon and understand the policies outlined above.

For Concurrent Master’s Degree Students Only:

As concurrent master’s degree student (i.e., Historic Preservation /Architecture, Historic Preservation/Landscape Architecture, etc.) you must complete the Historic Preservation degree within three calendar years from your first term of enrollment in the Historic Preservation program in order to retain the WRGP eligibility for the remaining period of time it takes to complete the second degree (up to a total of seven years from the date of admission). lf you choose to pursue concurrent degrees and do not complete the Historic Preservation major within three years of the term of admission, then you will be assessed non-resident tuition for the remainder of your graduate studies at the University of Oregon.

You must provide at least two of the following documents to demonstrate that you are a resident of a WICHE member state.


  1. Copy of a valid driver's license from the home state.
  2. Copy of your most recent state tax filing from the home state (or your parent’s, if you are claimed as a dependent).
  3. Copies of rent receipts, lease, letter from landlord, canceled checks, or home purchase agreement verifying residence in the home state.
  4. Recent paystub or employment contract demonstrating employment in the home state.
  5. Copy of vehicle registration in the home state.
