Trillium Health Resources is committed to improving health equity, which means ensuring that every community and individual we serve has the opportunity to reach their highest level of health. Learn more about how we are Striving for Health Equity.

Trillium launched our first Health Equity Council in January 2024, and is now in the process of establishing five (5) Regional Health Equity Councils to allow our work to be deeply rooted and informed at a local level. The HECs reflect the diverse populations served by Trillium. The Council meets monthly and reports findings and recommendations to the Chief Executive Officer quarterly.

The Health Equity Council focuses on the following:

Improve access to health care using quality and accurate data.
Increase stakeholder representation and engagement in improvement initiatives.
Improve staff diversity, especially in leadership.
Improve health education outcomes for historically marginalized populations.
Develop new programs to promote health awareness.
Help end policies, systems, and environments that create inequities.

The Health Equity Council reflects the diverse populations served by Trillium. Roles can and will continue to be added as needed to ensure representation, but currently include Consumer Family Advisory Committee (CFAC) members, individuals with lived experience identifying as Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC), as well as members of the LGBTQ+ community; and individuals representing health-related resources needs or Social Determinants of Health (SDOH).
