2025 ECU Distinguished Graduate Faculty Mentor Award

Introduction

Thank you for nominating someone for the 2025 ECU Distinguished Graduate Faculty Mentor Awards! The purpose of these awards is to recognize graduate faculty members with dedication and proven success in mentoring graduate students.


Eligibility

Nominees must be full-time ECU graduate faculty (full, associate, or graduate teaching). Recipients of an ECU Distinguished Graduate Faculty Mentor Award within the past 5 years are not eligible for consideration this year. Marquerite Bond in the Graduate School (bassm@ecu.edu) can confirm graduate faculty status for any ECU faculty member. Please email her to ask about your nominee.


Materials/Requirements

All materials must be uploaded as ONE complete PDF document. This should include:

  • Curriculum Vita, five-page limit
  • Statement from the nominee on their personal approach to mentoring graduate students, 500-word limit
  • The nominee must indicate/include, in the title of the personal statement on the approach to mentoring, whether they are being nominated for mentoring master's students or doctoral students
  • At least two letters of support from ECU graduate students or former ECU graduate students (maximum of 3 letters; two-page limit per letter)
  • At least one letter of support from an ECU graduate faculty colleague (maximum of 2 letters; two-page limit per letter)


Deadline

The deadline for submission is 5:00 PM (Eastern) on January 15, 2025. The winners will be recognized at the awards ceremony of Research & Creative Achievement Week on April 4, 2025.
