er- and Polyfluoralkyl Substances, commonly referred to as PFAS, have been classified as emerging contaminants in drinking and surface waters by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). An “emerging contaminant” is a chemical or material that is characterized by a potential or real threat to human health or the environment. Come learn more about this emerging contaminant and how to be proactive at the local level when PFAS is detected.
