Fund Priorities

The Ukrainian Support Club Fund is open to all BF affiliated clubs that have been supporting Ukrainian fencers to participate in fencing since the start of the war.

We expect demand will outweigh the funds available so for the purposes of panel decisions, the following considerations will be taken into account:

  • The contribution made by your club to support the fencers (this includes free or significantly discounted membership, equipment, lessons)
  • Previous history of affiliation and engagement with BF
  • Previous commitment to BF membership for club participants

The fund is targeted at those Community Fencing Clubs who have been supporting Ukrainian Fencers, to enable them to continue to do so.

We will ask you to discuss this further in the comment box below and if your application is successful, we may ask for you to provide us with evidence before the award is granted (e.g. receipts, invoices, membership or equipment loan agreements etc).

Money can be used for the following:

  1. To contribute to club membership fees for Ukrainian fencers (the expectation is that the club can demonstrate these are or have historically been significantly reduced)
  2. To contribute to equipment costs (the expectation is that any equipment is purchased/provided by the club on a loan basis and returned for general club use and the club can provide evidence of that)
  3. To contribute up to 50% of entry fees for domestic competitions.

Based on the level of applications we may consider other uses, however please note we will not support international competition related costs.

(Max 500 words) Please provide the names and membership numbers of the Ukrainian Fencers that the club is currently supporting.

If your application relates to costs already incurred please upload evidence (eg receipts, membership/loan agreements etc)
