Pre-Qualification Screening

Welcome to Will County Habitat for Humanity's quick Pre-Qualification Screening. We are happy that you are considering Will County Habitat as a partner in your quest for homeownership. This screening tool will determine if you meet the preliminary criteria needed to purchase a home through Will County Habitat. We look forward to working with you and assisting you in your path to homeownership.


If you answer YES to the following questions, you may qualify to buy a Habitat home.


Do you have a housing need?*

Examples include: living in unsafe or substandard housing conditions, rent payments exceed 30% of your monthly gross income, overcrowded living conditions, or presently living in a transitional housing situation.

Are you at least 18 years of age or older?*
Are you a US citizen or permanent resident?*
Do you currently reside OR work in Will County?*
Have you had stable and verifiable income for the past 12 months?*
If accepted into the program, Will County Habitat requires you to work volunteer hours (Sweat Equity) in the amount of 350 hours per household. This includes working at our job sites and/or retail store. In addition, you will be required to take home buyer education classes.*

Gross income refers to your entire annual household income before taxes.


If you answer NO to the following questions, you may qualify to buy a Habitat home.


Have you had a bankruptcy in the last two years?*
Have you had a foreclosure in the past two years?*
Do you have any non-medical debts in collections?*

Example: car repossessed, broken lease, unpaid utility bill, unpaid cell phone bill, etc.
