Guidelines for Observers Attending an Electronic Hearing

To ensure that the hearing is conducted with decorum and with due regard to the rights and privacy of all participants, observers must review and agree to the following guidelines.

1 Observers are required to register in advance of the hearing via the Scheduled Hearings page of the College’s website. The College will provide a live stream link to all registered participants 1 hour in advance of the hearing via e-mail.

2 Where portions of a proceeding are closed to the public in accordance with the legislation or at the discretion of the hearing panel, observers will see a notice of the above on the live stream screen.

3 Audio or video recording of the proceeding and/or sharing the live stream link is not permitted. No person attending or observing a hearing is allowed to make a recording of the whole or parts of the hearing and/or share the live stream link with other individuals. Furthermore, the College will not retain a recording of the hearing. Staff will delete live stream recording from the College’s YouTube channel immediately after the hearing.

4 The panel may place a publication ban on the names of certain individuals who appear before the panel. Observers are required by law to abide by such publication bans and agree not to reveal the names of the individuals protected by such bans.
