Hosted by DEEPS and made possible in great part by the Nemmers family, this symposium will highlight cutting edge, fundamental research in aspects of Climate, Water, Natural Resources and Decarbonization to inform, inspire and energize members of the Northwestern community.



The Symposium will take place on Friday June 6th at Northwestern University Lutkin Hall 10 AM - 5 PM. Lunch will be provided to attendees available to participate and will take place in Guild Lounge in Scott Hall. A light reception will immediately follow the symposium.


Our 2024 Nemmers Prize in Earth Sciences recipient, Dr. Barbara Sherwood Lollar, will be participating.



Please complete the below form with your confirmation of attendance as soon as possible but no later than June 2nd. Confirmation of your RSVP and more detailed information regarding the symposium will be sent beginning May 26th.



Once capacity is reached, regrets will be sent immediately in response through the end of registration on June 2nd. Your responses will assist us in planning the programming for this event.

NOTE: all sessions and reception located within Lutkin Hall, with the exception of lunch, which will be served in Scott Hall, Guild Lounge, a short distance from the main symposium venue.

It is preferred to have each attendees submit their individual confirmation.


If you are registering for more than one person, please indicate the total number of people you are confirming. Please note, individuals confirming together must be attending the same schedule.

If you will be attending the Symposium lunch, please let us know if you have any food allergies or restrictions. All food served during breaks and the reception will be labeled.

Walking, traversing curbs, ramps and stairs is required for some portions of participation. Please let us know of any physical accommodation needs so we may assist further.
