Health Policy UG Certificate Application


Your application is your opportunity to demonstrate a good fit with the program and detail your anticipated cohesive, thoughtful pathway through the certificate program.


Eligible students who can apply:

  • Second-semester first-year Duke undergraduates
  • Sophomore Duke undergraduates
  • First-semester junior Duke undergraduates


Requirements to apply:

  • You must be a Duke undergraduate student (as outlined above), but the only requirement beyond that is a genuine interest in the field of health policy.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Please tell us in 300-500 words why you are interested in US-focused health policy and why you would like to pursue the Health Policy Certificate. Be sure to state how the US-focused Health Policy Certificate will complement your current academic pursuits and how it may impact your long-term career or future education plans.

 
 

A faculty advisor is NOT required for acceptance into the certificate.

 

I acknowledge that I am required to take 4 courses in the following sequence:

1 Introductory course (PUBPOL 165)

2 approved electives taken concurrently with OR after PUBPOL 165

1 Health Policy Capstone course in the spring of your final (senior) year

***There are no exceptions to this sequence***


In addition, I need to complete:

2 approved experiential learning activities at any time during the certificate

1 e-portfolio developed during the entire time in the certificate
