Course Grading Basis Change Request - Pass/Fail

Pass, fail grading (WSU Academic Regulation 50) is a student-initiated option, whereby a student elects to take a letter-graded (A – F) course for a pass, fail (P, F) grade.

  • UCORE designated courses may not be taken P/F
  • HONORS prefix courses may not be taken P/F



STUDENTS: submit this form to request a change to the course grading basis. Check the 'send me a copy of my responses' at the bottom of the form if you wish to receive a copy of your request.


  • Requests to change course grading basis must be requested by the deadline indicated on the Academic Deadline calendar. Requests received after the deadlines will not be processed.


  • Processing begins upon receipt of approved request.


  • Allow 3-5 business days for processing. You will not be notified once processing has been completed. Check myWSU in 'View My Classes'.
