APRU Undergraduate Leaders Program 2025 Application

Join the the APRU Undergraduate Leaders Program this summer, organized by the Association of Pacific Rim Universities and Universidad de Chile.


This year's theme will be “Future Global Citizenship Leaders: Addressing Pacific Rim Challenges” and is designed to immerse international students in the complex political, economic, social, and cultural intricacies of the Pacific Rim, emphasizing the importance of the Latin American viewpoint. It will provide a platform for students to understand the specific challenges of the Pacific, such as intercultural dialogue, economic development, and environmental sustainability.


The program fosters global citizenship by promoting a deep understanding of and respect for cultural diversity and international collaboration. Through networking activities, cultural nights, and mentorship opportunities, students will not only enhance their diplomatic skills but also establish lasting connections with peers and experts, preparing them to in influence and contribute to policy-making on the Pacific Rim stage.


Eligibility:

  • Full-time undergraduate students, who have completed at least one year of studies, from all disciplines currently registered at University of Oregon.
  • Have a good command of English.


Event dates:

  • July 20 to August 1, 2025


Students are responsible for the following expenses. All numbers below are estimates:

  • Program fee ~ $600*
  • International travel ~ $1,500
  • Meals and expenses outside the program ~ $650 ($50/ day)
  • UO insurance throughout program ~ $25
  • Other personal expenses ~ $225

Total cost: ~ $3,000


*Included in program fee:

  • Academic program costs
  • Transfers within the program
  • Meals within the program
  • Accommodation from July 20 to August 2, 2025

Eligibility: Full-time undergraduate students. Seniors who have graduated in Spring of 2024 are not eligible to apply.
