Access to Public Records
It is the public policy of Indiana’s Access to Public Records Act (“APRA”), Ind. Code §5-14-3 et seq., that “[p]roviding persons with information is an essential function of a representative government and an integral part of the routine duties of public officials and employees, whose duty it is to provide the information.” Ind. Code §5-14-3-1. Accordingly, any person has the right to inspect and copy public records during regular business hours unless the records are protected from disclosure as confidential or otherwise exempt under the APRA. Please note that APRA does not obligate public agencies to respond to questions. As such, please do not use this form to submit questions as Fishers will not respond. Should you have questions concerning Fishers, please contact the City where your inquiry will be submitted to the appropriate department. For a public records request please fill out the form HERE. Documents are subject to charges as set forth by City Code 35.30 Fee Schedule and/or Fishers Police Department General Order 53. There is no charge to inspect, review, examine or search for a public document on site. Many public records are available on line at: www.fishersin.gov
