Bruin Commuter Transit Benefit

UCLA Transportation’s Bruin Commuter Transit Benefit program offers one free quarterly transit pass for eligible students, staff, and faculty.

  • If you have a had transit pass in the past, you are not eligible for this program.


The pass issued is valid for any of the seven transit agencies serving the UCLA campus: Los Angeles Metro bus and rail lines, Santa Monica Big Blue Bus, Culver CityBus, Antelope Valley Transit, Santa Clarita Transit, Long Beach Transit, and LADOT Commuter Express, and more!

  1. UCLA Extension Students and Visiting Scholars: are not eligible for this promotion.
  2. Undergraduate students: are eligible to receive the Bruin Undergrad Pass and should NOT apply for this benefit.
  3. Graduate students: are eligible to receive the Bruin Grad Pass if they pay the BruinGo Universal Access Fee and should NOT apply for this benefit.

Due to new Federal guidelines regarding subsidized transit passes, all UCLA students and employees are required to take a short one-time Metro survey. We cannot review your request until you complete the survey.


To complete the Metro survey:


  1. Log into the Transit Portal
  2. Scroll all the way down and press continue
  3. Under the 'Personal Information' section you will see the following sentence: "You will be eligible to request...Please click here to complete this short survey. Thank you."
  4. Click on the word "here" and that will direct you to the survey
  5. Complete the survey. DO NOT purchase a pass


If you do not the survey, you have already taken it.
