BF Event Entry Financial Assistance Application

As part of BF's commitment to tackling inequalities and supporting those from lower socio-economic groups (LSEGs), this scheme is designed to support fencers facing significant financial hardship to enter BF events (listed below), by providing free entry. This form must be completed by a club official and evidence of financial support from the club must be provided, e.g. free/significantly discounted lessons and club membership. In completing this form, you will be asked to agree that no other additional costs or charges will be put on the fencer by the club or coach in relation to attending the event, e.g. they will not be expected to pay for their coach to attend the event. Once the application has been received, we will assess the information provided and contact you to confirm the outcome of the application. Please be aware: 1) There are a limited number of places available per competition. 2) Applications must in the first instance be completed by officials on behalf of BF affiliated clubs. If the application is successful the parent/guardian will be required to complete a further form. 3) Fencers that currently pay for club sparring and lessons are unlikely to benefit from the scheme. 4) Fencers already receiving SportsAid (or similar) grants are not eligible to apply. 5) Fencers attending private schools are not eligible unless they are on 100% scholarships. One application form must be submitted per event, normally 2 weeks prior to the entry closing date for each event.
