Entering Mentoring Interest Form

The CFCCC Cancer Research Training & Education Coordination (CRTEC) team is considering bringing the Entering Mentoring curriculum, developed by the Center for Improvement of Mentored Experiences in Research (CIMER), to our institution. This program aims to enhance mentors' skills for productive, culturally responsive mentoring relationships, benefiting both mentors and research trainees.

To help us decide whether to offer this training at the CFCCC, please complete the interest form by July 1.

For questions, please email Kimberly Castellanos at kecastel@hs.uci.edu.

The Entering Mentoring training requires a full-day commitment (6-8 hours of in-person training). Are you willing to commit to this?*

Note: Participants will be polled to determine a day that best fits their schedules.

The Entering Mentoring training is a prerequisite for the Culturally Aware Mentor (CAM) training. Would you like to stay informed about future CAM training sessions?*

The CAM training curriculum, developed by CIMER, helps mentors understand the sources and impacts of bias affecting graduate trainees from diverse backgrounds, aiming to improve the environment for trainees from underrepresented (UR) groups. Learn more here.
