    i. The referring employee refers a qualified external candidate for an eligible status (full or part-time) position BEFORE the candidate applies to the position.

    ii. If the referred candidate is hired for an eligible position within six months of the referral submission date and the referral meets the eligibility requirements, the referring employee will receive a reward per the following:

Category Total Reward (less taxes, disbursed in one payment)

  • All positions, when deemed eligible $1,000
  • Hot Jobs, when designated as a Hot Job $2,500

B. Process

    i. The referring employee refers a qualified external candidate via the Employee Referral Form on Sky Web BEFORE the candidate applies to the applicable status position.

    ii. Once the referred candidate applies, the hiring team will consider the application along with other qualified applications for the position, following the normal selection and recruitment process;

    iii. Should the referred candidate be chosen as the successful candidate and hired, the employee referral program coordinator will then determine if the referral is eligible under this program.

C. Payment

    i. Eligibility requirements for the reward will be evaluated and if all conditions are met, the reward will be paid to the referring employee on the next available pay date proceeding the referred candidate’s completion of first 6 months of employment.

D. Referral Cap

    i. There is no cap on the number of referrals an employee can make. We ask that employee’s keep in mind that this program is provided to help employee’s refer candidates that they truly believe will be successful in serving Sky Lake’s mission, help support Sky Lake’s vision and can exemplify Sky Lake’s values.

E. Campaigns

    i. Campaigns will be run on an as-needed basis for hard-to-fill or urgent positions otherwise known as “Hot Jobs”.

    ii. A job can only be categorized as a “Hot Job” after approval from Human Resources, for a designated period of time

    iii. Employees referring candidates to positions categorized as “Hot Jobs” are eligible for a higher reward amount if the referred candidate is chosen and hired.

F. Additional Guidelines

    i. We’d like to remind our employees that Sky Lakes is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate against protected characteristics. Sky Lakes is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer and in keeping with our commitment, encourages women, minorities, persons with disabilities, and Vietnam-era and disabled veterans to apply. Sky Lakes will look to select the best candidate for the position despite if the candidate has been referred. While an employee referral program is a great recruiting tool, Sky Lakes will only use this program as a percentage of its recruiting effort to avoid creating an unintentional disparate impact on some protected groups if employees refer candidates of the same race, religion, national origin, or any other protected class. All candidates will be evaluated for employment consistent with Sky Lakes policies and procedures. All information regarding the hiring decision will remain strictly confidential. Any disputes or interpretations of the program will be handled through Human Resources. This is a discretionary bonus program that is subject to change at management’s discretion.
