Expression of Interest Form


Ipswich City Council is seeking Expressions of Interest applications for the 2025 Galvanized: A Festival of Heritage.

The festival will run from Friday 5th September until Sunday 14 September 2025. Individuals, groups, and organisations are invited to contribute to a festival that showcases the unique history and traditions of our region.


Event Ideas and Opportunities

We are looking for a wide range of events that capture the diverse heritage of Ipswich.

Some ideas include:

•    Aboriginal Storytelling and Cultural Experiences

•    History and Heritage Walks

•    Exhibitions

•    Lectures, Workshops, and Panel Talks

•    Digital, VR, and Immersive Experiences

•    Behind-the-Scenes Tours of Iconic Heritage Buildings

•    Children’s and Family Activities

•    Historic Dance, Costume, Art, Music, and Historic Sporting Events

•    Clubs and Community Group Events

•    Traditional Foods and Beverage Events

•    Traditional Crafts and Heritage Conservation Workshops

•    Multicultural History Events

•    Heritage Photography Workshops

•    Heritage Building, Parks, Gardens, and Natural Environment Experiences


Galvanized 2025 will be a curated collection of experiences for patrons to immerse themselves in the unique tales and heritage of one of Queensland’s oldest towns, with a strong focus on community, First Nations culture and shared stories. The festival delivers a diverse range of events and attracts 10,000 plus attendances and engagements through performances, exhibitions, and behind-the-scenes tours, to thought-provoking talks, walks and bus tours in venues ranging from galleries to graveyards. Festival inclusions are supported by Ipswich City Council to promote their events through listings in the Quarterly Guide, Ipswich Festivals website and through a wide variety of marketing and promotion opportunities. Support can also be provided to assist with ticketing events and networking opportunities are provided to staff and volunteers offering events.


Galvanized Expressions of Interest will be assessed in April 2025 and selected experiences will be required to provide information for the printed festival program by mid May 2025.


In 2025, expressions of interest that focus on opening doors to exclusive experiences or shared social events with a historical theme will be highly regarded.
