Student Initiative Fund 2023-24

Application Form

In partnership with BCIT, the BCIT Student Association (BCITSA) is proud to offer BCIT students access to funding for initiatives that will further their professional development.

BCITSA and BCIT set aside $15,000 on an annual basis for this fund and applications are reviewed by a committee. Students can receive funding ONCE PER ACADEMIC YEAR for ONE INITIATIVE. The committee can approve up to 75% of registration fees, up to a maximum of $500.

  • Funding is only available for the registration costs (we do not cover travel, hotel, etc.).
  • Funding is only available for initiatives that are directly related to your field of study/current program at BCIT.
  • Funding is only available for initiatives that focus on professional development (not personal interests/hobbies).

You must be:

  • Enrolled as a full-time or part-time BCIT student.
  • Pursuing your professional development initiative while enrolled in classes at BCIT (must be taking classes during the semester that corresponds to the application date).
  • In good financial standing with BCIT.

Applications must be received by 4:00 PM on the submission date. Applications are processed within 3-4 weeks of the submission date. All applicants are informed of approval or denial.

Funds are distributed once the required forms and receipts are received. If you have any questions during the application process, please contact the Student Association Centre via email at services@bcitsa.ca or via phone at 604.451.7087
