Mobile Planetarium Reservation Request Form

The Center for Mathematics and Science Education is excited to offer your students a one-of-a-kind experience without ever having to leave school!

IMPORTANT: We are fully booked for the 24-25 school year. We are currently booking for the 2025-2026 school year.

Before submitting a request, please read about the requirements, pricing, and logistics.

After your request is received, you will receive a quote for your review and approval from a member of our K-12 STEM Experiences Division. Upon your approval of the quote, an official reservation can be determined and scheduled. Completing this request does NOT confirm your reservation. Your reservation is not official until it has been confirmed with a member of the K-12 STEM Experiences Division.

The CMSE staff members appreciate as much advance notice as possible. We recommend requesting your visit at least one month in advance to organize and plan a successful Mobile Planetarium showing.

Size Requirements*

The size requirements of the planetarium are 16 feet in height and diameter. Additional space is required for participants to enter safely. The planetarium must be set up INSIDE with access to grounded electrical outlets.

Please describe the location where the planetarium will be set up. We recommend a space like a gymnasium or a cafeteria. It is necessary for us to confirm the setup location before confirming the reservation.

Associated Costs*

I understand that I must agree to costs outlined in the confirmation email in order to complete my reservation. Costs will include the planetarium showing fee, mileage to and from the event location, and (if applicable) a lodging fee. Please visit our website to view the associated costs.

Cancellation Policy*

It is the goal of the K-12 STEM Experiences Division within the Center for Mathematics and Science Education (CMSE) at the University of Mississippi to provide high-quality research-based STEM experiences to K-12 students. In order to adequately fulfill the many reservation requests that we receive, it is respectful to allow individuals on the waitlist adequate time to prepare for large-scale events/trips such as this.

Therefore, any registrant who needs to cancel their registration must do so no later than fifteen calendar days prior to the event. Registrants who cancel up to fifteen days prior to the event will receive a full refund of all fees paid in advance. However, registrants who cancel less than fifteen days prior to the event will be charged a cancellation fee of $100. Likewise, if a purchase order has been submitted as payment for registration and a registrant cancels less than fifteen days prior to the event, an invoice will be sent to the originator of the purchase order in the amount of the cancellation fee. In addition to cancellation, please contact the CMSE at cmsek12stem@go.olemiss.edu or call 662-915-6621 concerning any changes related to your scheduled event.
