Discuss any personal information or challenges you feel are relevant to the Scholarship Committee’s decision when considering you for a scholarship. Explain why you feel you are deserving of a scholarship and why it is important to your pursuit of a career in health care.

Financial Story

Worth up to 10 points

Please briefly describe your financial needs and barriers that the Scholarship Committee should consider when reviewing your application. Examples of financial needs and barriers are multiple household members in college, course load, employment challenges, family obligations, etc.


Academics

Worth up to 20 points

Please upload a copy of your transcript at the end of this application. Transcript must include student name and name of school. A 2.5 GPA (or 85) is required to be considered for a scholarship.

Extracurriculars

Worth up to 15 points

This can include school, workplace and/or volunteer achievements.


Letters of Recommendation*

Worth up to 25 points. For full 25 points, letters should be current and compelling, describing student's ambition and drive to pursue a career in medicine. Letters should clearly demonstrate that student will be successful in college setting.

I have two current letters of recommendation that I will attach at the end of this application or arrange to have sent to the MaineGeneral Office of Philanthropy.*
