2025 HEMA Championships Request to be Entered

British Fencing has received an invitation to enter participants to an 'UNOFFICIAL 1st EUROPEAN HISTORICAL FENCING CHAMPIONSHIPS to be held in

Kalundborg (Denmark) on 1st to 2nd of February 2025.

Before completing please read this: Information from organisers

BF is not the National Governing Body for Historical Fencing in the UK (and to the best of our knowledge there is no recognised NGB currently). But for this event only federations that are members of the EFC (ie BF) can make entries.

Therefore BF will operate a light touch entry process open to all that are interested in participating in the event.

Deadline for completing this request form is 19th December 2024

Participants allocated a place will be notified on the 21st December. Where a participant is not a BF member we will ask them to take out a free 90 day introduction membership so we can process entries on their behalf.

If there are more than 2 candidates requesting a place in a category, priority will be given to participants that have previously participated in similar competitions in Europe and then first come first served.

BF will aim to process entries on 2nd January 2024.

(Note: BF Office is closed 25th, reopening 2nd Jan)

We will use this to contact you about the administration of the event and to share with other participants for the purpose of collaborating on referee provision and other logistics.

I accept that I will be responsible for engaging and liaising with other members of the squad (my email will be shared with them for this purpose) to source a referee and all costs of the referee will be split equally amongst the participants in a private arrangement that does not involve BF.

Please summarise your international experience (traveling abroad to compete in HEMA competitions). The purpose of collecting this information is to check that you know how these competitions run and can navigate international travel with HEMA equipment. As British Fencing is only able to process entries and cannot provide any other assistance to participants. Where more request entries than there are places we will prioritise people with international experience over those with none.

Use this space for anything you would like to draw to our attention. BF will only be able to answer questions about the entry process, all other questions should be directed in accordance with the contacts provided on the competition information.

I agree and understand that British Fencing (BF) is only acting as the administrative body for making entries and I will need to take out a BF membership (free, 90 days) to be entered. BF has no further responsibilities or liabilities in relation to this event and participants are solely responsible for all logistics, bookings, equipment and costs including travel, accommodation, insurance etc. I agree to be bound by the rules of the organisers and the relevant BF Code of Conduct.
