Call for Proposals

April 13 -17, 2026 | Las Vegas, Nevada

Thank you for offering to share your time and expertise with the child nutrition community at the 2026 National Child Nutrition Conference at the Westgate Las Vegas.

Please complete the entire application for your proposal to be considered. Incomplete submissions will not be reviewed.

The early decision deadline for proposal submissions is September 3, 2025. Proposals received after this date may not appear in the digital conference brochure but will still be considered on a rolling basis until the program is full.

Presentation Information

Type of Presentation*

Workshops – One-hour sessions about nutrition, program admin/operations, financial management, Head Start, Summer Food, Afterschool Meals, train the trainer and more. Multiple presenters (limit 4) are allowed and PowerPoints/handouts are required.

Speed Sessions - Thirty-minute information packed sessions that require a PowerPoint presentation. There's no Q&A, just concise and to-the-point content. Perfect for speakers who can deliver impactful information in a short timeframe.

Shop Talks – Unscripted, dynamic, and real, these are thirty-minute facilitated conversations that focus on specific topics like enrolling providers, fundraising, policy, handling conflict, parent engagement, and mobile meals. PowerPoints are not required and there is only one facilitator per session.

Academy – Two or three hour deep-dive sessions that allow attendees to understand the nitty gritty. Sessions take place pre and post conference with a limited group of registrants. Multiple presenters (limit 4) are recommended and PowerPoints/handouts are required.

Advanced CACFP Meal Patterns

Presentation Description:*

Limit to 400 characters. If your proposal is accepted, your description will be published online and in the conference program. NCA reserves the right to edit your submission for clarity and marketing purposes. Presentation descriptions will be listed with the three key points of the session.

Example:

You’ve been participating in the CACFP for years now and feel that you know the meal pattern like the back of your hand. But do you? From food components to required serving sizes to substitutions and variations of the meal pattern by age groups, there is so much more to know than the basics. Test your knowledge as we cover advanced-level topics.

What are the three key points of this presentation?*

Key points are the three main learning objectives that attendees will take away from this presentation.

Example:

Review exceptions in the CACFP meal pattern.
Identify foods that are not creditable in the CACFP.
Evaluate products for appropriate substitutions.

Provide a structured outline of your presentation. Clearly elaborate on the three key points you plan to cover and how the session will be organized. Include an estimated time breakdown for each section to show how you will manage the session's flow. Your outline should demonstrate a logical progression and show how each part supports your overall message.

Presentation Attendance:*

Session attendance at the NCNC does not require pre-registration by attendees. Rooms will be set theater style and attendance may range from 25 to 300 depending on topic interest. Are you able to adapt your session to the expected attendance (which will be shared with you February 2026)?

Presenter Acknowledgement

Conference Registration:*

Presenters are required to register for the conference. Presenters will receive a link with the lowest rate and early access to discounted rooms at the host hotel.

Travel & Hotel:*

I understand all presenters are responsible for making and paying for their own hotel and travel expenses.

Honorariums:*

I understand that NCA does not provide honorariums for conference presenters.

Audio Visual:*

Presenters will be offered standard audio visual support which will include a podium with a wired microphone, clicker, projector, and screen. Your NCA-approved presentation will be preloaded on a laptop in your assigned workshop, speed session or academy room (shop talks do not have presentations).

I understand no changes are allowed to my presentation after March 6, 2026 or onsite.

Internet Access:*

Wireless internet speed and connection is not guaranteed in meeting spaces. We require presenters to embed links or videos into your presentation. If you need a stable internet connection, then a hardwired internet connection can be added for an additional fee.

Handouts:*

Presenters must submit an electronic copy of their presentation in a PowerPoint file and handouts in PDF form by March 6, 2026 for publishing in the attendee library and to be preloaded onto the presentation room laptop. Presenters are responsible for printing and providing an adequate number of handouts if they would like to provide physical copies, NCA will not print and provide handouts.
