U01. Health is Wealth (Health Professions)
Interested in health care or another health-related career? This learning community is designed for health science and health and human performance. This is a quintessential community to be immersed in while learning how to apply a health-related degree to the professional world.
Classes: English I, Support for English I, Pathways to College Success, and Human Anatomy/Physiology I
U02. Future Nurses (Pre-Nursing)
This Living and Learning Community is for students who are planning to pursue a degree in nursing. This community will help you develop a solid foundation in the prerequisite and foundational courses in this challenging major. You will also get the chance to enhance your academic skills while learning about career options within the field. Students will also receive support preparation for the TEAS examination required for admission into the Nursing Program.

U03. From the Movement to a Hashtag (Education)
This learning community will explore historic movements for quality education and ideas surrounding education as a civil right. Through primary sources and ongoing reflection, this community will prepare future-teachers for advanced coursework in the field.

U04. The Language of Law (Criminal Justice)
Students enrolled in this learning community will become more familiar with their rights and with the field of criminal justice. Not only that, students will also learn more about the complex role of language within the criminal justice system.

U05. Songs in the Key of American History (Summer Success Academy)
Students study how music and history have been connected throughout the African American experience. This learning community is closed and only available to students who participate in Summer Success Academy. Please email successacademy@asurams.edu for more information.

U06. Men of Distinction
From Boys to Men: Black male-identifying students are invited to participate in a learning community that focuses on identity in a changing world. Activities will include structured learning experiences and the promotion of healthy academic, social, physical, and psychological integration of male students into college life. Professional etiquette will also be covered in the course. This community is open to all majors.

U07. The STEM Lab (STEM)
The STEM Lab community is designed to help students connect real-world educational experiences to potential careers including, but not limited to, biology, chemistry, computer science, and forensic science.

U08. Reality Check (Social Sciences)
Students will explore the basic units of human social and political organization. The learning community will observe and note the consequences of government interactions on community behaviors.

U09. Local Goes Global: World Class Business (Business)
Business and entrepreneurship are global enterprises in the 21st century. Students in this community will explore issues such as supply chain logistics, international trade, and eCommerce.

U10. The American Dream: Art is Political (Humanities)
This learning community is perfect for students interested in examining the critical function of art in human society.

U11. Sisters of Excellence
Black women-identifying students are invited to participate in a learning community that focuses on identity in a changing world. Activities will include structured learning experiences and the promotion of healthy academic, social, physical, and psychological integration of female students into college life.
