Welcome to the application form to apply to host a tournament sanctioned by Manchester FA. Please complete all the required fields including attaching any requested documents. Please note only completed submissions will be reviewed.


Once your application has been reviewed, your event will be set up within the competitions.thefa.com portal which you will then be able to log into to finalise the application.


This application must only be completed by an authorised individual acting on behalf of a affiliated grassroots club. Applicant details will be checked and verified on receipt.

Tournament Details

Rule 4(a) of The Football Association states that, ‘Clubs, players and officials subject to the jurisdiction of The Football Association or an affiliated Association shall not be associated with or play with or against any Club which is not a Member of The Association or an affiliated Association.’ The Club agrees to ensure that all competitions the Club or its members compete in are sanctioned by the appropriate Association.


COMPETITIVE FOOTBALL


A child eligible to play in a knock out cup game, trophy event, or festival that is sanctioned by the County FA can play for points, the competition can show tables & results and award trophies.


AGE BANDINGS


Mini-Soccer


Under 7 – (Together with those who attain the age of 6 during the Playing Season) will be classed as Under 7 Players for that Playing Season. The player must have attained the age of 6 as at midnight on 31st August in the playing season but must be under the age of 7 as at midnight on 31st August in the playing season.


Under 8 – the player must be under the age of 8 as at midnight on 31st August in the playing season.


Under 9 – the player must be under the age of 9 as at midnight on 31st August in the playing season.


Under 10 – the player must be under the age of 10 as at midnight on 31st August in the playing season.


(Please Note), Players must play with and against players from their own age range.


Youth Football


Under 11 – the player must have attained the age of 10 but must be under the age of 11 by midnight 31st August in the playing season.


Under 12 – the player must be under the age of 12 as at midnight on 31st August in the playing season.


Under 13 – the player must be under the age of 13 as at midnight on 31st August in the playing season.


Under 14 – the player must be under the age of 14 as at midnight on 31st August in the playing season


Under 15 – the player must be under the age of 15 as at midnight on 31st August in the playing season.


Under 16 – the player must be under the age of 16 as at midnight on 31st August in the playing season.


Under 17 – the player must be under the age of 17 as at midnight on 31st August in the playing season.


Under 18 – the player must be under the age of 18 as at midnight on 31st August in the playing season.


In accordance with the foregoing qualifications a player under the age of 15 as at midnight on 31st August in the playing season must not play in a match where any other player is older or younger by 2 years or more.


The age bandings relate to the playing season in which the competition takes place. e.g. If you are organising an Under-14 competition, then if the tournament is being played on or before June 30th 2019, then the player must have attained the age of 12, but be under the age of 14 as at midnight on August 31st 2019. If the tournament is being held on or after July 1st 2019, then the player must have attained the age of 12, but be under the age of 14, as at midnight on August 31st 2019.
