Follow Approved menu and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's). Menu and SOP's must be with the STFU at all times of operation. Any menu additions or SOP changes must be approved before going into effect.

Notify the local health department (LHD) that you are operating. At least 4 business days before operating, notify the LHD for the jurisdiction of your location, date(s), and hours of operation.

Request and receive 2 inspections each licensing year. Inspections must be requested at least 4 business days in advance. The inspections must be spaced out over the operating season and must take place while the STFU is in operation. Inspections cost $90/each and can be completed by any LHD in Michigan. Within 30 days after an inspection, you must send a copy of the inspection report to your licensing LHD.

Renew your license each year. Your food service license expires every year on April 30th. A renewal application will be mailed to you. You must have two paid inspections each year to be eligible for license renewal.
