All designs must comply with the Exhibit Rules & Regulations (see below) specific to your booth type must be approved in advance by show management. On-site exhibitors without approval will be required to correct violations prior to show opening.
Designs must document all heights and elevations, including the height of the back wall, along with specifications for any covered areas and the height and location of any towers, platforms, raised flooring, or other structures. Dimensions should be in U.S. Measurements. Any exposed booth walls must be finished.
Inline Linear Booths
Linear booths, also called “in-line” booths, are generally arranged in a straight line, and have neighboring exhibitors on their immediate right and left, leaving only one side exposed to the aisle.
Linear booths are most commonly 10ft wide x 10ft deep. Usable booth space is 10ft wide x 9ft deep to accommodate for electrical utility. Maximum back wall height is 8ft. Regardless of the number of linear booths utilized (e.g., 10ft x 20ft, 10ft x 30ft, etc.), display materials should be arranged in such a manner so as not to obstruct sight lines of neighboring exhibitors. If you have any type of interactive display, you must have a 3-foot clearance from the aisle(s) to allow for crowds. Pop up banners but stay in the back half of your booth and NOT block your neighbor.
The maximum height of 8ft is allowed only in the rear half of the booth space, with a 4ft height restriction imposed on all materials in the remaining space forward to the aisle. Note: when three or more linear booths are used in combination as the single exhibit space, the 4ft height limitation is applied only to that portion of exhibit space which is within 10ft of an adjoining booth.
Exhibit structures must be constructed to allow for emergency access and utility service at the rear of the booth. In the event that a facility column is included in the space, fire equipment must be left unobstructed, and clearance must be allowed for access to utilities. Storage behind the back drape or wall of the booth is strictly prohibited.
Hanging signs are not permitted for linear booths.
A corner booth is a linear booth at the end of a series of in-line booths with exposure to intersecting aisles on two sides. All guidelines for linear booths apply.
Peninsula Booths
A Peninsula booth has two or more standard booths (10ft x 10ft) (3.05m x 3.05m) with aisles on three sides. A Peninsula Booth backs up to another Peninsula Booth, the two booths share a common back wall drape 8ft 3in (2.5m) high. Exhibits must be constructed with enough space to allow for utility service at the rear of booth. Pop-up tents are not allowed. Hanging signs must be set back 10ft (3.05m) from the adjacent booth and no higher than 20ft (6.10m) from top of sign to the floor. Booth height may not exceed 16ft (4.88m). Any signage facing the neighbor (behind) cannot have any logo or identification facing the neighboring booth. The backwall of any booth must be finished carpentry on the back side facing other booths. Hanging signs are allowed with approval.
Island Booths
An Island Booth is any size booth exposed to aisles on all four sides.
All island booth designs must be approved by show management in advance of the show. Please do not go into production on your booth until you have approval from show management.
An Island Booth is typically 20ft by 20ft or larger, although it may be configured differently. The entire Cubic Content of the space may be used up to the maximum allowable height, which is 16ft including signage. If you have any type of interactive display, you must have a a 3ft clearance from the aisle(s) to allow for crowds. Any free standing structure over 12' tall but be rigged per the PCC. Exhibitor is responsible for that cost for rigging/labor with Freeman.
In the event that a facility column is included in the space, fire equipment must be left unobstructed, and clearance must be allowed for access to utilities.
Island booths may hang signage above their booths to a maximum of 20ft, measured from the floor to the top of the sign, where ceiling height allows. There must be at least 3ft of clearance between the sign and the booth structure. Signs may not exceed the width of the contracted booth space. All logos or graphics facing directly into neighboring booth must be off-set 10ft from your back wall. All hanging signs, hanging graphics, and hanging banners must be approved by Show Management.
All back walls, side walls or any other exposed areas of the display must be covered or finished surfaces. No graphics, logos, or print facing directly into the neighboring booth are allowed. Any company advertisements, graphics or promotions must face into the aisle.
Walls may be installed in any portion of the booth; however, 50% of the perimeter of the booth must be left open. Walls must be finished on both sides so as not to be unsightly to neighboring exhibitors.
Use of multi-story exhibits, canopies and ceilings must be approved by Show Management in writing. All local county regulations must be followed and an engineer-stamped plan for all multi-story booths must be provided to Show Management prior to move in and must be available onsite for review upon request.
Complex and Multi-Story Booths
A complex booth is any booth that has a covered ceiling or is a two-story exhibit. A two-story exhibit is a booth where the display fixture includes two or more levels.
An application and the architectural drawings must be prepared and submitted to the local authority by a licensed architect or engineer. Exhibitors should obtain local building regulations early on to ensure that all time constraints are met. Architectural Booth Designs must be a U.S. engineered drawing and must have the U.S. stamp of engineering approval. All dimensions must be in U.S. measurements. Flame Proof Certificates must be certified in the U.S..
All complex booth designs, including the use of multi-story exhibits, canopies and ceilings must be approved by Show Management in writing prior to move-in and all documents must be available onsite for review upon request.
Please do not go into production on your complex booth until you have approval from show management, the Pennsylvania Convention Center and local government agency.
Hanging Signs
Approval for hanging signs will be considered for booths 20ft x 20ft or larger provided the signs are not objectionable in content and there are no physical constraints at the facility. Show management must see a complete rendering or drawing with clearly labeled dimensions of both the booth and the hanging sign, prior to approval.
Maximum height for signage is 22’, measured from the floor to the top of the sign, where ceiling height allows. There must be at least 3’ of clearance between the sign and the booth structure and the sign may not exceed the width or depth of the contracted space.
The official show contractor is responsible for supervision, assembly, installation, and removal of all hanging signs. In addition to this form, please make sure that you also complete the Hanging Sign Order Form found in the Exhibitor Services Manual and use the shipping label provided for your hanging sign.
Hanging sign plans must be submitted to the Show Organizer for approval. Designs must document all heights and elevations, including the height of the back wall, along with specifications for any covered areas and the height and location of hanging signs, towers, platforms, raised flooring, or other structures. Dimensions should be in U.S. Measurements.
Vehicle Display
If you wish to include a motor vehicle, such as a car or motorcycle, as a display element in your booth, you must have advance written permission from Show Management.
Please complete this form and send a picture or rendering of the vehicle, along with a floor plan or drawing showing the size and location of the vehicle within your booth.
The Fire Marshal has very specific rules and regulations regarding Motor Vehicles for Display.
