Workplace Strategies Student Affairs FY24

Managers should use this form to document the workplace strategies they intend to use with their employees, consistent with Student Affairs guidance.

Please submit a separate form for each employee. The employee will receive a copy after SAHR reviews the submission.

If the strategy changes before its end date, submit the form again.

"Flextime" means adjusting start/end times. "Compressed workweek" means the same hours spread over fewer workdays.

Required unless the strategy is remote work 1-2 days per week. For compressed workweek, describe hours per day.

End date*

  • All staff are expected to meet performance standards, including being available and accessible with minimal distractions during work times.

  • Student Affairs will make concerted efforts to honor Workplace Strategies and to give advanced notice if they will change. However, when necessary, SA may change Workplace Strategies -- temporarily or permanently, and with or without notice -- for business or organizational needs, special work functions or activities, seasonal variations, or performance.

  • Hourly employees must report all hours worked. Overtime requires supervisor preapproval.

  • If you are newly approved to work primarily outside Illinois, you will need to update your home address in myHR, complete the Remote Worker Form to notify SAHR, and complete appropriate tax forms.

Check with your SALT leader. Some may review each request individually or all requests as a group before managers may submit this form. Others may provide norms for managers to apply.
