Dual Credit Instructor Application

Thank you for your interest in teaching dual credit through STLCC! Every course taught through St Louis Community College’s Dual Credit Program is equivalent to the same course on campus at STLCC. To this end, it is necessary for all STLCC instructors to meet the qualification requirements set by St. Louis Community College (STLCC), the Missouri Department of Higher Education (MDHE), the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), and by the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP).

Dual Credit Instructor Responsibilities

Approved dual credit instructors will be required to:

  • Attend STLCC's Dual Credit Launch, an annual kick-off event which includes professional development activities and (for new instructors) course-specific training
  • Submit an STLCC-compliant syllabus using the STLCC course profile and syllabus template.
  • Verify dual credit course rosters after registration is complete
  • Submit grades via Banner Self-Service
  • Host a site visit from STLCC faculty. Site visits are completed every year for the first two years, then every other year after that, in accordance with state policy.

Please Note:

  • STLCC Dual Credit is not the same as Advanced Placement. Instructors who plan to offer both options must ensure their course curriculum is aligned with the STLCC course profile.
  • Dual credit courses are transcripted courses at the College and not courses typically entered into CATEMA for articulated credit.
  • Applicants must be currently employed at a STLCC Dual Credit partnering high school.
  • STLCC dual credit instructors are paired with a faculty liaison who can provide training and support throughout the year. You will meet your liaison at our Dual Credit Launch event.

Acknowledgement

I understand that obtaining certification requires me to adhere to all standards set by St. Louis Community College and by the Missouri Department of Higher Education. I also understand that completion of all dual credit instructor requirements, including attendance at the annual orientation and training, submission of an STLCC-compliant syllabus, and submission of final grades, are required to remain certified to teach STLCC Dual Credit courses.

If I am approved, I understand that I will receive an STLCC email address, which will provide me access to the College’s learning management system and Banner for access of student rosters and as the location where I will enter official grades.
