Submit your SPS Member Driven Initiative Proposal Draft to your local RDAL (Form)

All proposals for the 2025 Cycle 2 Member Driven Initiatives (MDI) are due by no later than 11:59pm (Eastern Time) on 16 May 2025. There will be no exceptions for late or incomplete submissions.

In order for your Member Driven Initiative proposal draft to be considered for the current review period, you must use this form and upload the required documents. By competing this form and uploading the required documents, your draft proposal is being submitted to the Regional-Directors-at-Large (Regional Activities Committee), therefore completing the first submission phase.

Eligibility reminder: Each SPS Chapter and SPS Student Branch Chapter can only submit a total of 4 proposals per year, with up to 2 proposals per sub-program. The Chapters should be vetting all proposals to determine which proposals will be submitted to either the Cycle 1 or Cycle 2. If your Chapter has already submitted 4 proposals during Cycle 1, the Chapter is not eligible to submit additional proposals to Cycle 2.

Ensure you have provided all detailed information about your proposal needed for the Committee to evaluate your proposal according to the respective initiatives type. You will not be able to revise your proposal.

The following documents are REQUIRED to be uploaded in order for the proposal draft to be considered for review:

All below templates can be accessed here.

  1. Drafted Proposal (Download the "Proposal Draft Information" template to ensure you include all necessary details of the proposal.
  2. Detailed Budget Form
  3. Detailed Honoraria Form (if any honoraria or travel support is being given)
  4. SBC and Chapter Collaboration Acknowledgement (Only applies to proposals organized by an SBC)

Full program details are available on the Organize Local Initiatives page of the SPS website.

Upon completion of this form, it is recommended that you select to receive a copy of your answers. In the event that your proposal is recommended to be submitted into the official submission system (phase 2), this will ensure that your proposal's details are consistent. Please note, you should only make changes based on the feedback given by the RDALs when you receive your recommendation email.
