This form is for the purpose of allowing eligible athletes to opt-in to/apply for selection for specified events. Data collected through this form will be held in accordance with the British Fencing Privacy Policy that can be found here: https://www.britishfencing.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/privacy_policy-01.06.19.pdf and will not be shared with any other organisation. The personal data you have provided in this form will be used by BF for the following purposes: To contact you in relation to the information provided on this form. To contact you in relation to your participation in any follow up events you have expressed an interest in attending. To consider you for selection for the indicated event. To do this, information you provide will be used by the ADP team and selectors to assess you against the Pathway Standards and the published Selection Policy. BF will store and retain the personal data you have provided in this form as follows: Event interest/registrations will be retained for up to two years (a maximum of 24 months) at which point the data will be anonymised and all personal data deleted.

Any mitigating circumstances or discretionary case which an athlete wishes to be taken into account in the selection decisions should be uploaded as part of completing this form.

COVID-19

Travelling and competing abroad is currently significantly more costly and administratively more complicated. There will also be a requirement to travel into the country several days in advance of competing, and on departure there maybe restrictions on re-entering the UK (eg a requirement to quarantine)

You may wish to think about your contingency for quarantining (either in Bulgaria or on return) should this be required by the authorities.

In making this decision the BF Board will review government legislation and guidance, the local COVID-19 situation in the host country and will discuss any usage of the Elite Exemptions with UK Sport/DCMS.

BF will publish the names of all athletes that apply for selection.
