Networking Breakfast Participant
Join us to welcome young people to the Michigan Youth Institute by attending this opportunity for informal networking with youth participants prior to the start of the program. Highlight future opportunities for youth participants at MSU and beyond, help them feel comfortable and included at the event, and provide opportunities for networking.
The Networking Breakfast will be held from 7:30 am - 8:45 am on May 8, 2025
Roundtable Expert Participant
The role of experts during the Roundtable Discussions will be to read 6-8 student research papers before the event, listen as students give short presentations based on their research papers during the event, and engage in dialogue with students about their research findings and recommendations. Round table experts will have an opportunity to provide feedback to the students on their research papers and to provide recommendations to the program staff which will assist in the selection of delegates to represent Michigan at the World Food Prize Global World Food Prize Institute in October 2025. Each round table group will be led and facilitated by a Michigan 4-H staff member. If you are interested in serving as an expert panelist during the round table discussion, please complete the form below. The WFPMIYI Roundtable Discussions will be held from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm on May 8 2025.
WFPMIYI Luncheon
Join students, teachers, faculty, and special guests for lunch. 12:00 - 1:00 pm. Location TBD
Field Trip/Immersion Experience Host or Chaperone
During the afternoon portion of the WFPMIYI, students and teachers will see firsthand how Michigan State University and our partners are engaged in developing and applying knowledge to help address grand global challenges. Field Trip/Immersion Experience Hosts may provide a group of students and teachers with a tour of a MSU facility, lead a hands-on educational experience, or highlight a cutting-edge project that is having an impact on food in Michigan, the US, or around the world. Field Trips will take place on and around MSU's campus in East Lansing, MI and online. If you are interested in serving as a Field Trip/Immersion Experience Host, please complete the form below.
