2025 Recommended Course Sequence and Certification

Texas Education Code, Sec. 51.96852(c) requires institutions of higher education to include recommended course sequences in its course catalog and on the institution’s Internet website. It also requires institutions to submit recommended course sequences to the Higher Education Coordinating Board and 19 Tex. Admin. Code, Chapter 4, Subchapter U provides information to submit.

I certify that our institution complies with Texas Education Code, Sec. 51.96852. Specifically:


We developed at least one recommended course sequence for each undergraduate certificate or degree program that we offer. Each recommended course sequence:

  • Identifies all required lower-division courses for the applicable certificate or degree program;
  • Includes, if applicable:
  1. The course number or course equivalent under the common course numbering system approved by THECB; and
  2. The course equivalent in the Lower-Division Academic Course Guide Manual or its successor adopted by THECB.
  • Is designed to enable a full-time student to obtain a certificate or degree, as applicable within:
  • two years for a 60-hour degree or certificate program; or
  • four years for a 120-hour degree program.
  • Includes a specific sequence in which courses should be completed to ensure completion of the applicable program within the time frame.
