2025 PES Member Driven Initiative Application

The IEEE Power & Energy Society Governing Board has allocated funding for Member-Driven Initiatives. The funding is open to all PES members, Chapters and Committees. PES Members do not require Chapter approval but coordination is strongly recommended. Allocation of funds will be competitive.


The 2025 PES Member-Driven Initiative (MDI) program will feature 3 distinct funding calls.

  • The PES Day Special Call is dedicated exclusively to supporting PES Day celebrations, with a maximum funding request limit of 300 USD.
  • This will be followed by two regular funding opportunities: PES MDI Call 1 and Call 2.

It is important to note that IEEE Organizational Units (OUs) are eligible to submit only one funding request per calendar year.


To ensure a successful application, the MDI form must be completed in its entirety, accompanied by a detailed spending breakdown and supporting vendor quotes. Applicants are strongly advised to review the MDI Terms and Conditions prior to submission. Incomplete applications or submissions from non-PES members will not be considered.

PES Chapters in India are requested to also attach the completed Endorsement Form as a pdf file. The PES SBC can request the form from the local PES professional chapter. Professional chapters can request the same from the PES R10 Secretary.
