Path to the Plains Student Contract

As a student in P2P, you assume an obligation to conduct yourself in a manner compatible with the expectations of the educational institutions, Southern Union State Community College (SUSCC) and Auburn University (AU). In addition to following all policies of both institutions, P2P students are expected to understand and agree to the following.

  • I agree to follow the prescribed curriculum model for the designated program to which I have been accepted and, therefore, will attain an Associate in Science degree at SUSCC and a Bachelor's degree at AU.
  • I agree that I will register for classes at SUSCC on the first day registration is open to me.
  • I understand that a student who fails to register for classes and, therefore, does not secure seats in the required classes is in danger of being dismissed from P2P.
  • I understand that the concurrent enrollment representative from AU will enroll me in the AU classes.
  • I agree I will enroll in classes according to the prescribed curriculum model for the designated program in which I have been accepted.
  • I acknowledge that SUSCC and AU will exchange personally identifiable information from my educational record for purposes related to my enrollment or transfer.
  • I understand that P2P is designed for students to attend on-campus classes concurrently at SUSCC and AU. Online classes, on occasion, will be approved in extenuating circumstances.
  • I agree that I must be in good academic standing at SUSCC and AU. A student not in good academic standing is in danger of being dismissed from P2P.
  • I agree participation in P2P requires holds to be resolved promptly. A student who does not resolve holds by the deadline is in danger of being dismissed from P2P.
  • I agree to seek support from a variety of resources, including the tutors in the SUSCC Success Center, SUSCC and AU instructors, and the services of the AU Office of Academic Support. These resources are available to P2P students free of charge.
  • I understand that it is my responsibility to seek help when I need it.
  • I agree to inform the P2P advisor(s) of any issues related to concurrent enrollment or class performance promptly.
  • I agree to attain permission from the P2P advisor(s) before altering my schedule including dropping a class.
  • I agree to meet with my P2P advisor(s) at SUSCC at least once, by mid-term, each semester during the concurrent enrollment period.
  • I agree to check college email accounts routinely and respond promptly.
  • I understand that during P2P concurrent enrollment, tuition for AU courses will be billed at the SUSCC tuition rate per credit hour.
  • I understand I must pay SUSCC for all tuition payments for both SUSCC and AU courses.
  • I understand that SUSCC scholarships do not pay for AU courses.
  • I understand automatic admission to AU depends on meeting the following four requirements.
  • Complete at least three semesters in P2P concurrent enrollment (Fall and Spring Only).
  • Achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 on all credits earned during P2P concurrent enrollment.
  • Earn a grade of "C" or higher in both English Composition I and English Composition II.
  • Meet all applicable prerequisite requirements associated with the designated program.
  • Must be in good academic and conduct standing at both SUSCC and AU.
  • Must meet all other applicable AU policies and requirements.
  • Upon acceptance to AU as a full-time student, I understand that a maximum of 60-64 semester credit hours (dependent on major) from a community college may be degree applicable at AU.

Concurrent Enrollment Program Release of Records

Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974

Agreement to Reverse Transfer

The majority of the concurrent enrollment degree pathways meet the requirements of an Associate in Science degree. Students will be awarded an associate degree upon completing the requirements of the degree.

In rare circumstances, a student may transfer to a four-year university before completing all of the requirements of the Associate in Science degree. Reverse transfer is a process where academic credits for coursework completed at a four-year university are transferred back to the previously-attended community college to satisfy associate degree requirements.

To aid the financial aid department in meeting the needs of our students, please mark all of the forms of financial aid resources you plan to use for this concurrent enrollment program.

AU Student Services Fee Opt-In Information

Auburn University offers an optional Student Services Fee that Path to the Plains students may opt into. This fee controls access to the Auburn Recreation and Wellness Center, Auburn Athletics Tickets, AU Student Counseling and Psychological Services, and AU Student Organizations. More information about opting in and paying the student services fee will be made available to students accepted into P2P. Students who choose to pay the AU Student Services Fee will pay the fee directly to AU.
