Summer Faculty Writing Retreat Application Form

When: Monday - Friday, 10 a.m.-3:00 p.m, July 17-21 OR July 24-28, 2023


Where: Guild Lounge, Scott Hall, Evanston. This is an In-person event only.


Eligibility: Pre-tenure assistant professors and tenured associate professors in all schools; NTE assistant professors and NTE associate professors in Bienen, Kellogg, McCormick, Medill, Pritzker, SESP, SoC, and WCAS.


There are a limited number of spaces available for the writing retreats. Priority given to those who did not attend the 2022 retreat.

Which week are you registering for?*
Caregivers who must make special arrangements for child or adult/senior care in order to attend the writing retreat are eligible to receive a caregiving stipend. Please attest to your caregiving status. Are you a primary caregiver (defined by 50% or more of parenting responsibility or care) to your dependent child(ren) or adult/senior dependent(s)?*
Do you need to make special arrangements for childare or adult/senior care in order to attend the writing retreat?*

For example, you might arrange for two dependent school age children to attend summer camp, or arrange to hire a babysitter for young children, or arrange for a sibling to come stay and provide care for a dependent parent who lives with you.

Examples:

1 week summer day camp $500 x 2 children: $1000 total

Babysitter 7 hours/day, 5 days, $30/hour: $1,050; request $1,000 total

Sibling Travel: $350 airfare, $100 ground transportation: $450 total

Participants must be able to attend the writing retreat from 10am-3:00pm every day (barring emergency/unforeseen circumstances). Please attest to your availability to attend daily by checking the box yes.*
