CONTINUING ISU IINSPIRE Research Scholar Application

The ISU IINSPIRE Program provides up to three terms of research funding to eligible Iowa State students. Students receive $1500 per term during the academic year and are expected to commit to 10 hours/week for research training activities. Students must have received previous research funding to be eligible for academic year funding. The following eligibility criteria will be considered when reviewing applications:


United States citizen or permanent resident

College GPA of 2.7 or higher

Major in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) discipline – check the eligible majors

Sophomore or Junior status or recent transfer student

Previously funded by ISU IINSPIRE

Previous fulfillment of program expectations


Application Deadlines:

September 15th and January 15th

NOTE: Students who are hourly employees at Iowa State are not eligible to receive NSF ISU IINSPIRE stipend funding UNLESS they are Workstudy employees, but NOT ISU IINSPIRE employees.
