Thank you for applying for the CIRM Scholars Comprehensive Research Training Program. At this time, we are accepting pre-doctoral applications with a January 1, 2026 start date.

Before completing the survey, please have these documents ready for upload:

Please attach a single PDF file arranged in the following order below.

1. Letter of nomination from mentor.
2. Mentor and candidate biosketches (NIH or CIRM format). Candidate's should provide a fellowship biosketch.
3. Statement of candidate's research interest and career plan (less than one page).
4. An independently-written research project plan. Pre-docs: one-page description of the research project written in a NIH Specific Aims page format.
5. Mentor's current and pending funding (NIH or CIRM Other Support document).
6. For previous applicants who are re-applying, please address previous review feedback (one-page limit).

NOTE: Applications after the deadline will be considered incomplete if any items listed below are missing in the single PDF file. If you find that you have forgotten an item, please email Abbie Enriquez (abbiee@hs.uci.edu) the file to include into your application.
