Shabbat Services

Help create a warm, welcoming experience and support the flow of Services, making Shabbat feel special for everyone from start to finish.


Right now we could use extra help on Fridays.

Join security at the gate entrance to be the first friendly face folks see as they arrive

Help guide someone through Shabbat services or introduce them to members of the community

Help pass out Siddurim as folks are entering and help collect and stack them after Services

We need 2-3 volunteers each Shabbat to count lunch attendance when service gets out.

  • On the top of the outside stairs
  • On the top of the inside stairs
  • At the first buffet table for when Limudim gets out


Will need to be in place by 12:15pm

Home Hosting

Specific requests to follow as they come up.

New Member Engagement

Jump in where needed and stay connected through spontaneous and ongoing opportunities.

Help us welcome new members by calling them within their first few weeks of joining IKAR. Don't worry, we'll provide a script guideline

Come to the office and help us stuff bags for new members

Pick up welcome bags from the office and drive them to new members' homes. Similar to Mishloah Manot or High Holy Day Basket deliveries.

Office and Event Space

Keep things running smoothly behind the scenes with simple tasks like scanning, shredding, and organizing that make a big difference. May be general or specific support for ECC or Limudim.

Help organize materials in our event and storage space.
