2023 Cornerstone Summer Institute Camper Application

The Cornerstone Summer Institute is an eye-opening weeklong summer program for high school students (rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors) that takes place at the University of Virginia. In the intimate and enriching setting of the University’s Academical Village, students will learn and develop thinking skills that prepare them for success in college and beyond. The program focuses on uncovering the hidden history of the area through historical investigation, archaeological excavation, and community engagement in Charlottesville, Virginia. Guided by top faculty and a team of UVA students, participants will explore both the University’s past and the modern-day legacies of slavery. The Institute will take place from June 23-30, 2023.
