CAPS Virtual Lecture Series Speaker Funding Application

Please Read

Considering the current limitation for travel, the Center for Asian and Pacific Studies (CAPS) is providing funding from our speaker series to support honoraria ($300) for external speakers to give a talk on an Asia-Pacific-related topic. Funding for your topic may be taken from one of three speaker series:

*Jeremiah Lecture Series

*Myung Sup Lim Lecture Series in Korean Studies

*Yoko McClain Lecture Series in Japanese Studies (on approval by the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures)

Please note, as part of our lecture series, these events must be open to the public and sponsoring faculty must put in place appropriate procedures to allow Q&A and prevent disruptive influences (e.g. "Zoom-bombing"). Priority will be given to first-time requests. Topics must relate to Asia-Pacific themes.

CAPS will provide funding for the honorarium ($300), assist with technology as needed, and help advertise these lectures. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, and we will aim for a rapid response.
