Your World Your Way (YWYW) celebrates young people and reflects their daily lives and lived experiences through photography.

The competition aims to reflect the lives of young people on the Central Coast and is open to photographers from the Central Coast aged between 12 and 24 years.

A prize pool of $7,300 in cash and other prizes is on offer.

All skill levels are encouraged to apply.

This free-to-enter photography competition is open from 27 November 2023 to 04 February 2024.

The Top 20 shortlisted images will be printed, framed and exhibited at The Erina Centre exhibition space during April 2024 and published on the Central Coast Council website to celebrate Youth Week.

A selection panel will assess submitted images and select two award recipients, with the top twenty shortlisted images open to a People’s Choice Vote.

The Winner and Highly Commended Prize will be announced at the Winner Presentation in the exhibition space on 03 April 2024.

Winning artists will be awarded a mentorship as part of their prize to develop a body of work for a further exhibition later in the year.

People’s Choice Prize will be announced online at the end of the exhibition period, on 30 April 2024.

The Top 20 Finalist Photos will form a basis for a database of images that Council will use for advertising and developing promotional materials in order to move towards a model of ensuring images for young people are taken by young people. Where possible, images used for marketing and promotional purposes will reference the photographer.
