This event registration is for classes at Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood.

About:

The series of three childbirth classes prepares the expectant mother and her support person for the birthing experience. The class is designed for first time mothers. The class should be taken four to eight weeks prior to your due date.

In this class, you will receive information regarding:

• Pregnancy warning signs
• Signs of preterm labor
• Labor signs
• Stages of labor
• Pain management options including natural birthing techniques, narcotics and epidural
• Medical interventions
• Cesarean delivery
• Postpartum care
• Newborn care
• How to get breastfeeding off to a great start
• The childbirth experience at Hendrick

1st class - Understanding pregnancy, understanding labor, Christina’s birth

2nd class - Comfort techniques, medical procedures, understanding cesarean birth

3rd class - Tour, understanding postpartum, understanding newborns (including a discussion with a local Pediatrician as available).

All classes are offered free of charge through The BirthPlace at Hendrick.
